The sound map

A few little boxes.
A lot of possibility.

A big Fuzz Face parked in the middle. Overdrives for bite. An octave fuzz that can make a lead sound like it’s picking up transmissions from somewhere else. The Midnight Vibe and Phase 90 get things swimming, while the Echoplex lets the notes hang around a little longer.

Fuzz Face
Parked in the middle—where the clean road gets rougher.
Overdrives + octave fuzz
Bite, lift, and the occasional transmission from somewhere else.
Midnight Vibe + Phase 90
The movement that gets the whole thing swimming.
Echoplex
Room for the notes to hang around a little longer.

No straight line home

Country grit. Blues growl.
Plenty of outer space.

There’s a lot of possibility in those little boxes. Country grit, blues growl, and enough psychedelic swirl to lose track of the county line. Hearing those sounds rub up against each other is part of what makes Leroy’s playing so damn interesting.

The story started with a guitar. This gives you a look at how far out that guitar can go.
